Pattern Logic

Pattern Logic presents sequenced puzzle boards in which each cell, tile, or connector must satisfy published constraints. Players progress through escalating difficulty tiers within a fixed round timer. The format rewards clear reasoning and careful verification: a single incorrect commitment can cascade, so high scorers tend to balance speed with disciplined checking rather than guessing.

Puzzle instances are selected from curated pools so that entrants in the same competition face equivalent difficulty profiles. Selection may use a shared seed per heat. Solving remains a pure skill task; chance does not award points.

Solve as many valid puzzle boards as possible within the round timer while minimising incorrect submissions and maximising difficulty-weighted points.

Each solved board awards a base value scaled by difficulty tier (Tier 1–5). A Perfect Solve multiplier applies when a board is completed without any incorrect lock attempts. Time Remaining Bonus adds a small per-second credit for boards finished with spare time, capped so that reckless rushing cannot dominate accuracy. Incorrect locks deduct a fixed penalty from the board’s potential score and remove access to the Perfect Solve multiplier for that board. Skipped boards award zero and do not carry a skip penalty, encouraging strategic triage. Round score is the sum of all board results after penalties. Leaderboards display both total score and a secondary accuracy rate (correct locks ÷ total locks) for transparency.

The highest round score wins. In multi-round competitions, round scores are summed or averaged according to the published format. Validation systems re-check submitted solutions against the official constraint set; only validated solves count. Disputed boards are reviewed against server-side puzzle definitions, not client-rendered state alone.

If two or more participants share the same primary score after validation, the following ordered tie-breakers apply:

1. Higher accuracy rate (correct locks ÷ total locks)
2. Greater number of Tier 4–5 boards solved
3. Fewer incorrect lock attempts overall
4. Faster cumulative solve time across validated boards
5. If still tied, an additional sudden-death board of equal difficulty for both players
